"I started out my undergraduate degree as an astronomy major. After I took a geology class at the end of my freshman year, it made sense to me to start my planetary studies with the one closest at hand, the Earth. That is how I became a geoscientist." – Margarete Jadamec

UC Davis Undergraduate Research Center

The mission of the Undergraduate Research Center is to encourage and facilitate research opportunities for UC Davis undergraduates. Appropriate programs and services are available to all majors and all class levels.

UC Davis has a long tradition of supporting undergraduate students' involvement in research, scholarship and creative activity. These experiences serve as a vehicle to help you understand what it means to attend a premier research university, enhance the quality of your interactions with faculty, and learn first-hand that knowledge is not just learned, but discovered.
