UC Davis Geology and Geophysics Programs Place Top 50 in QS World University Rankings

QS World University Rankings by Subject ranked UC Davis' geophysics and geology programs in the top 50 worldwide.

Last week, Quacquarelli Symonds (QS) released the World University Rankings by Subject, ranking UC Davis' geophysics and geology programs in the top 50 worldwide. QS is considered one of the most influential international authorities on university rankings. The renowned programs are offered through the UC Davis Department of Earth and Planetary Sciences (EPS).

In response to this prestigious recognition, Dr. Estella Atekwana, Dean of the College of Letters and Science, extended heartfelt congratulations to the Department of Earth and Planetary Sciences, lauding their unwavering commitment to excellence.

“It is through your dedication and collaboration that we are able to achieve excellence,” said Atekwana, Ph.D. “I am proud of the work you are all doing and proud to be part of such an excellent department. Continue to strive for excellence and uphold the standards of our department and make UC Davis shine!”

The Department of Earth and Planetary Sciences offers a comprehensive range of programs including a Bachelor of Science and a Bachelor of Arts degrees in geology, in addition to research in the geophysics subject alongside prominent faculty. Graduates have gone on to attain employment within various sectors including federal, state, and local government, research facilities, consulting, nonprofits, higher education, law, and industry.
